Mar 16, 2022 ## Strong communication strategies improve situational awareness. ![](https://blog.unicomgov.com/hubfs/UGI%20UCC%20capabilities.jpg) Having situational awareness is critical for decision-makers to take the appropriate actions. When data elements can take many forms, having a strong communication strategy is critical to ensuring information is readily available across different locations and environments. Defining and implementing a strong communication strategy can seem like a daunting task when you think about all the possible data points, sharing data securely, and clearly interacting with key individuals to gather their analysis. A key component of many communication strategies are the centralized command centers. While these centers can vary in size, they all have similar requirements, which include: - 24/7 operational uptime, - Capability to accept sources with different data classifications, - Encrypted, crystal clear, audio and video communications, and - Intuitive system controls. With organizational structures operating within the Continental United States (CONUS), as well as Outside of the Continental United States (OCONUS), it is important to have systems that can bring together experts and resources, irrespective of their physical location, to increase situational awareness, and improve decision-making. Below are some questions we believe need to be considered to make the right selection, when searching for the right solution provider that can implement these command centers.
